Denim Deal 5 - S-017 - 12 oz - olive green selvedge denim
This 12 oz selvage denim from Japan features an olive-green front and a forest-green-like reverse, and is manufactured by Nihon Menpu in Ibara . Thanks to the identical coloring of the warp and weft threads, the fabric appears particularly uniform and develops only minimal fading over time – a calm, stable material with harmonious color depth.
When new, the denim is firm, slightly textured, and retains its shape, as is typical for unwashed raw selvedge fabrics. With wear, the material becomes more supple while maintaining its crisp, even surface. The reverse side, in a forest green hue, provides a subtle and intriguing contrast to the front.
The white and red selvedge adds a subtle yet distinctive detail that blends harmoniously into various designs. Despite its robust structure, the fabric remains manageable and is suitable for jeans, jackets, overshirts, or other projects that require both substance and a calming color effect.
Thanks to its 12 oz weight, this denim can be sewn with a standard household sewing machine. A size 90 jeans needle is recommended; for multi-layered flat-felled seams, the sewing speed should be reduced to achieve precise stitches.
The last photo exemplifies the natural development of the fabric over a longer period of wear – a smooth, vibrant fading that impressively underlines the calm color and the distinctive substance of the olive green selvage.
