This 12 oz selvage denim from Japan is produced by Nihon Menpu in Ibara and features a light sand beige color. The reactive dyeing process gives the fabric a soft, even color with vibrant depth, while the slightly textured surface lends the denim a subtle, distinctive look. The classic white and red selvedge elegantly completes the material.
When new, the denim feels firm and substantial, with a pleasant texture and even structure. With wear, the fabric gently conforms to the body, while retaining its subtle color and fine texture.
Thanks to its subtle structure, the fabric is ideal for jeans, jackets, overshirts, chinos or accessories where a light, natural color scheme and an elegant, slightly textured appearance are required.
Weighing 12 oz, this denim can easily be sewn with a standard household sewing machine. A size 90 jeans needle is recommended; for multi-layered flat-felled seams, the sewing speed should be reduced to achieve precise stitches.
The last photo exemplifies the natural development of the fabric over a longer period of wear – the light sand beige color and the subtle structure develop an elegant, individual patina that underlines the high-quality character of this denim.

Please do not wash the denim before processing. As an unwashed "raw selvage" fabric, it only develops its characteristic structure and fit through wear.
Wash the finished garment only after it is completely sewn. The respective shrinkage values for length and width should therefore be taken into account during pattern construction and size planning.
