This selvage yarn from Nihon Menpu in Ibara is structurally almost identical to the S-053. The crucial difference lies in the lighter weft thread.
The lighter, more distinct weft thread creates a slightly more vibrant fabric appearance even in its raw state. When worn, this contrast results in significantly more pronounced fading – edges, creases, and areas of wear stand out more from the base color and develop a more distinctive patina.
This fabric also weighs 13 oz, making it ideal for jeans, jackets, or classic workwear projects. A size 90-100 jeans needle is recommended.
