K-001 - 5 oz - indigo wave Kasuri
from Kasuri-Orimoto, Japan
1 × 50 cm = 50 cm Gesamtlänge
This lightweight fabric features a typical Japanese wave pattern in various shades of blue, which, thanks to its special manufacturing technique, achieves an almost vibrant appearance. The contours appear deliberately slightly blurred and lively – this very "swinging" of the pattern is a central design concept behind the traditional manufacturing method.
The fabric is produced using the Kurume Kasuri technique, a historical Japanese ikat technique from the Kurume region. In this technique, the yarns are tied and dyed in sections before weaving. The actual pattern only emerges during the weaving process. Minimal shifts in the dyed sections create the characteristic, slightly blurred effect that gives the fabric depth and movement.
The result is a fine, technically sophisticated textile with a cultural background – vibrant in expression, multifaceted in its color effects, and rooted in a centuries-old Japanese weaving tradition.

Please do not wash the denim before processing. As an unwashed "raw selvage" fabric, it only develops its characteristic structure and fit through wear.
Wash the finished garment only after it is completely sewn. The respective shrinkage values for length and width should therefore be taken into account during pattern construction and size planning.
