K-003 - 5 oz - indigo blue waterfall Kasuri
indigo-blue Kasuri with waterfall look
1 × 50 cm = 50 cm Gesamtlänge
This lightweight Kasuri fabric features a graduating indigo blue with irregular breaks that resemble a waterfall. The pattern appears vibrant and light – a typical characteristic of traditional Kasuri fabrics.
The special feature lies in its production: in the Kasuri technique (Japanese Ikat weaving), individual warp or weft yarns are tied off and dyed in sections before weaving. The motif only comes together during the subsequent weaving process. Minimal shifts in the pre-dyed yarn sections create the characteristic, slightly blurred contours. This deliberate play with blurriness gives the fabric depth, movement, and a handcrafted aesthetic.
Thanks to its light weight, the fabric is ideal as a lining for jackets or coats, as a decorative fabric for cushions or light curtains, and for entire shirts, blouses, or dresses. It combines traditional weaving art with versatile applicability and a calm, natural expression.

Please do not wash the denim before processing. As an unwashed "raw selvage" fabric, it only develops its characteristic structure and fit through wear.
Wash the finished garment only after it is completely sewn. The respective shrinkage values for length and width should therefore be taken into account during pattern construction and size planning.
