This 15 oz Japanese selvage denim is woven by Nihon Menpu in Ibara. The fabric features a black warp thread and an anthracite weft thread, which provides subtle depth even in its raw state and creates high-contrast, vibrant fading effects with wear. The sulfur-black dye gives the denim a deep, intense tone, while the white and red selvedge edge adds a classic selvage detail.

In its new state, the denim feels firm and substantial, with a uniform yet vibrant surface. With continued wear, the material develops a soft suppleness and reveals the distinctive medium contrast between the warp and weft threads.

Thanks to its balanced structure, the fabric is ideal for jeans, jackets, overshirts, or accessories where depth, texture, and high-contrast fading potential are paramount.

At 15 oz, the denim can be worked with well-adjusted domestic or industrial sewing machines. A size 100 jeans needle is recommended; when sewing multi-layered flat-felled seams, the sewing speed should be reduced to achieve precise stitching.
