K-001 - 5 oz - indigo wave Kasuri
from Kasuri-Orimoto, Japan
1 × 50 cm = 50 cm Gesamtlänge
This lightweight fabric features a characteristically Japanese wave pattern in various shades of blue, which takes on an almost vibrating appearance thanks to a special production technique. The contours appear deliberately blurred and lively – this very "shimmering" quality of the pattern is a central design concept behind the traditional manufacturing method.
The fabric is made using the Kurume Kasuri technique, a historic Japanese ikat technique from the Kurume region. The yarns are tied and dyed in sections before weaving. The actual pattern only emerges during the weaving process. Minimal shifts in the dyed sections create the characteristic, slightly blurred transition that gives the fabric depth and movement.
The result is a fine, expertly crafted textile with a cultural background – lively in expression, multifaceted in its color effect, and underpinned by a centuries-old Japanese weaving tradition.

Please do not wash the denim before processing. As unwashed "raw selvage," the fabric only develops its characteristic structure and fit through wear.
Wash the finished garment only after complete assembly. The respective length and width shrinkage values should therefore be taken into account during pattern making and sizing planning.
