K-003 - 5 oz - indigo blue waterfall Kasuri
from Kasuri-Orimoto, Japan
1 × 50 cm = 50 cm Gesamtlänge
This lightweight kasuri fabric features irregular, cascading indigo-blue bands that resemble a waterfall. The pattern has a lively, airy feel—a characteristic feature of traditional kasuri textiles.
Its distinctive look is created during production: in kasuri weaving (a Japanese ikat technique), individual warp or weft threads are tied and dyed in sections before weaving. The pattern only comes together during the weaving process. Slight shifts in the pre-dyed sections create the characteristic softly blurred contours. This deliberate play with blur gives the fabric depth, movement, and an artisanal aesthetic.
Thanks to its lightweight quality, the fabric is ideal for lining jackets or coats, as a decorative fabric for cushions or lightweight curtains, or for making shirts, blouses, and dresses. It combines traditional weaving artistry with versatility and a calm, natural look.

Please do not wash the denim before processing. As unwashed "raw selvage," the fabric only develops its characteristic structure and fit through wear.
Wash the finished garment only after complete assembly. The respective length and width shrinkage values should therefore be taken into account during pattern making and sizing planning.
