This 12 oz selvage denim from Japan is made by Kuroki in Okayama and features a very even, subtle surface as well as a classic white and red woven edge. With a 2% polyurethane content, the fabric offers a subtle stretch that allows for comfortable freedom of movement without compromising the characteristic substance of the denim.
In its new condition, the denim feels firm, shape-retaining, and smooth. With increased wear, the material becomes more supple, yet remains uniform in its surface and retains its subtle, elegant structure. The subtle stretch makes the fabric ideal for slim-fit jeans, jackets, or overshirts, where comfort and clean lines are required.
The white and red woven edge adds a classic detail that blends harmoniously into a variety of designs. Despite its flexibility, the denim remains easy to control and can be sewn cleanly.
Thanks to its 12 oz weight, the fabric can easily be sewn with a standard household sewing machine. A size 90 jeans needle is recommended; when sewing multi-layered flat-felled seams, the sewing speed should be reduced to achieve precise seams.
