S-020 - 12 oz - elastic dark indigo selvedge denim
white selvage line - from Kuroki, Japan
1 × 50 cm = 50 cm Gesamtlänge
This 12.3 oz selvage denim from Japan is made by Kuroki in Okayama and features a subtle, slightly pronounced texture as well as a classic white and red woven edge. With a 2% polyurethane content, the fabric offers a gentle stretch that ensures freedom of movement without losing the rugged substance of the denim.
In its new condition, the fabric feels firm and holds its shape, while its slightly pronounced texture gives it a lively surface effect. With continued wear, the denim becomes softer and more supple without losing its distinctive, slightly textured appearance. The subtle stretch makes it ideal for jeans, jackets, or overshirts that require both comfort and a refined material presence.
The white and red woven edge adds a classic detail that blends harmoniously into a variety of designs. Despite its flexibility, the denim remains easy to control and can be sewn with precision.
Thanks to its 12.3 oz weight, the fabric can easily be sewn on a standard household sewing machine. A size 90 jeans needle is recommended; when sewing multi-layered flat-felled seams, the sewing speed should be reduced to achieve precise seams.
The final photo shows an example of how the fabric develops naturally over extended wear – the slightly pronounced texture, combined with the subtle stretch, develops a lively, individual patina that makes the fabric highly versatile.

Please do not wash the denim before processing. As unwashed "raw selvage," the fabric only develops its characteristic structure and fit through wear.
Wash the finished garment only after complete assembly. The respective length and width shrinkage values should therefore be taken into account during pattern making and sizing planning.
