This 6 oz indigo chambray with selvage is made by Nihon Menpu in Ibara and features a subtle dotted pattern that gives the fabric a playful, textured look.
The chambray is designed to shrink slightly after the first wash (please refer to the shrinkage specifications here), creating a minimal, raised texture that gives the fabric additional depth and character. In its new condition, the fabric feels soft and supple while retaining its structure and shape stability.
At 6 oz, this chambray is ideal for summer shirts, dresses, skirts, or as a lightweight lining for jackets and trousers. The fabric width allows for comfortable working and creative cutting layouts.
For sewing, a universal or denim needle in size 70–80 is recommended; when sewing multi-layered yoke seams, the sewing speed should be reduced to achieve clean, precise seams.
