K-007 - 5 oz - black/golden Kasuri
from Kasuri-Orimoto, Japan
1 × 50 cm = 50 cm Gesamtlänge
This lightweight kasuri fabric features a contrasting, slightly irregular pattern with a black base and playful golden-brown weft threads. The pattern, whose striped character is strongly emphasized along the length, appears lively yet light—a typical feature of traditional kasuri textiles.
Its uniqueness lies in its production: In the kasuri technique (a Japanese ikat weaving method), individual warp or weft yarns are tied and dyed in sections before weaving. The motif only comes together during the subsequent weaving process. Minimal shifts in the pre-dyed yarn sections create the characteristic, slightly blurred contours. This deliberate play with blurriness gives the fabric depth, movement, and an artisanal aesthetic.
Thanks to its light weight, the fabric is ideal as an inner lining for jackets or coats, as a decorative fabric for cushions or light curtains, and for complete shirts, blouses, or dresses. It combines traditional weaving artistry with versatile applications and a calm, natural expression.

Please do not wash the denim before processing. As unwashed "raw selvage," the fabric only develops its characteristic structure and fit through wear.
Wash the finished garment only after complete assembly. The respective length and width shrinkage values should therefore be taken into account during pattern making and sizing planning.
