S-010 - 14 oz - organic cotton - natural indigo selvage denim

This natural indigo-dyed selvage denim from Japan weighs 14 oz and is made from high-quality organic cotton. It stands for substance, depth, and a deliberately powerful surface effect - ideal for durable jeans, dresses, bags, and jackets with a distinct character.

In its new condition, the unwashed denim presents itself as firm, grippy, and structured. The clearly visible texture as well as the slightly roughened top surface give the fabric a lively, almost tactile presence. This rougher surface enhances the authentic impression and ensures a particularly characteristic feel.

With increased wear, the material develops a noticeable suppleness without losing its core structure. The dark natural indigo tone forms the basis for high-contrast, expressive fading. Due to the stronger structure, creases and signs of wear stand out prominently - a patina with depth and individuality.

The fabric is made by Nihon Menpu in Ibara - a region steeped in tradition for high-quality Japanese selvage denim. On classic shuttle looms, fabrics with artisanal authenticity and a clear material identity are produced there.

With 14 oz, this denim brings a strong substance, but remains well manageable with a well-adjusted domestic sewing machine. A jeans needle with a strength of 90-100 is recommended; when working with multi-layered flat-felled seams, it should be worked at a reduced speed.
