S-017 - 12 oz - olive green selvage denim
white/red selvage line - from Nihonmenpu, Japan
1 × 50 cm = 50 cm Gesamtlänge
This 12 oz selvage denim from Japan features an olive-green face and a forest-green-like back and is made by Nihon Menpu in Ibara. Thanks to the same color for the warp and weft threads, the fabric looks particularly uniform and develops only minimal fading over time – a calm, stable material with harmonious color depth.
In its new condition, the denim is firm, slightly textured and shape-retaining, as is typical for unwashed raw selvage fabrics. With increased wear, the material becomes more supple, but retains its clear, uniform surface. The forest-green-like back provides a subtle, exciting contrast to the front.
The white and red woven edge adds a subtle but distinctive detail that fits harmoniously into different designs. Despite its stable structure, the fabric remains easy to control and is suitable for jeans, jackets, overshirts or other projects that require both substance and a calm color effect.
Thanks to the 12 oz weight, the denim can be processed with a standard household sewing machine. A size 90 jeans needle is recommended; for multi-layered flat-felled seams, the sewing speed should be reduced to achieve precise seams.
The last photo shows an example of the natural development of the fabric over a long period of wear – a uniform, lively fading that impressively underlines the calm coloring and the distinctive substance of the olive-green selvage.

Please do not wash the denim before processing. As unwashed "raw selvage," the fabric only develops its characteristic structure and fit through wear.
Wash the finished garment only after complete assembly. The respective length and width shrinkage values should therefore be taken into account during pattern making and sizing planning.
