This selvage from Nihon Menpu from Ibara is structurally almost identical to the S-053. The decisive difference lies in the lighter weft yarn.
Due to the lighter, more pronounced weft, the fabric already has a slightly more vibrant appearance in its raw state. When worn, this contrast creates significantly more pronounced fading – edges, creases, and high-wear areas stand out more from the base tone and develop a more distinctive patina.
The weight here is also 13 oz, making the fabric ideal for jeans, jackets, or classic workwear projects. A jeans needle with a thickness of 90–100 is recommended.
