Regular price €195,00This natural indigo-dyed selvage denim from Japan, in a classic mid-blue tone, weighs 12 oz and combines versatility with a tangible character. It is ideal for jeans, jackets, or shirt jackets that require a balanced substance and a vibrant surface.
When new, unwashed denim retains its shape, has a slightly firm feel, and a deliberately noticeable texture. The surface is somewhat rougher and displays a subtly pronounced texture that lends the fabric depth and authenticity. With wear, the material becomes more supple and adapts to the body and its movements.
The naturally indigo-dyed mid-blue tone develops distinctive washes with nuanced light-dark contrasts over time. The more visible structure brings creases and signs of wear vividly to life – a denim that continues to tell its story with every wear.
The fabric is produced at Nihonmenpu in Okayama – one of the most renowned regions for high-quality selvage denim in Japan. There, fabrics with an authentic feel and expressive surface effect are created on traditional shuttle looms.
The 12 oz selvage fabric can be easily sewn with a well-adjusted, standard household sewing machine. A jeans needle in size 80-90 is usually sufficient; a reduced sewing speed is recommended for multi-layered flat-felled seams.
