S-037 - 17 oz - natural indigo selvage denim
White/pink selvage line - from Nihonmenpu, Japan
1 × 50 cm = 50 cm Gesamtlänge
This 17 oz selvage denim from Japan is made by Nihon Menpu in Ibara. The deep indigo warp yarn combined with a beige weft yarn gives the fabric a pleasant, subtle texture. The slightly roughened surface makes the denim particularly soft to the touch while maintaining an overall calm, uniform appearance. The white woven edge with a subtle pink accent adds a stylish detail.
In its new condition, the denim feels structured and substantial, with a soft, inviting texture. With continued wear, the fabric adapts comfortably to the body while retaining its beautiful, balanced structure and color.
Thanks to its balanced surface, the denim is ideal for jeans, jackets, overshirts, or accessories where a soft drape, comfortable feel, and subtle texture are the main focus.
Although the fabric's 17 oz weight makes it challenging to work with, it can be sewn on well-adjusted domestic or industrial sewing machines. A size 100 jeans needle is recommended; when sewing multi-layered felled seams, the sewing speed should be reduced to achieve precise seams.
The final photo shows an example of how the fabric develops naturally over extended wear—the fine texture and deep indigo dye develop an elegant, vibrant patina that highlights the premium quality of this denim.

Please do not wash the denim before processing. As unwashed "raw selvage," the fabric only develops its characteristic structure and fit through wear.
Wash the finished garment only after complete assembly. The respective length and width shrinkage values should therefore be taken into account during pattern making and sizing planning.
